Ace Jam demo release

Hi! If you're surprised that I've released (part of) an actual game—good news(?), I'm surprised too.

I had hoped to have something more polished (or at least something I could call "finished"), but that goal was thwarted by (1) only managing to come up with an idea two weeks into the jam and (2) a bunch of IRL stuff coming at me in swift succession. Still, I've managed to bundle together something that's technically playable from start to...uh, well, "start to finish" really is not the best way to put it.

With luck, I'll be able to continue to work on this game after the jam and eventually release a complete version of it. One with music and sound effects and a finished story.

Surprisingly, the first part of the game I came up with was the title, with everything else about it coming afterwards. The story events themselves are heavily based on some of my own interactions with family as well as common negative familial experiences of other aces/bi people/wlw—so, unfortunately, it's not an especially pleasant story, despite the title literally being the start of a joke. The demo skips from the first choice to the beginning of the intended ending scene in large part because I felt bad that the demo would have otherwise ended on such a sour note. (The other reason is so that players know that the MC's girlfriend actually exists.)

Given the content, it feels a bit strange to ask people to "enjoy" the game—but I do hope people who play get something out of it.
